“Tensegrity” captures a one-of-a-kind moment in my Velocity Painting practice. Created through fast, physical paint movements paired with sharp geometry, the work balances chaos and order in a way that I have tried for over 6 months to repeat. Even with video of the process, the result has remained difficult to reproduce, representing a special snapshot of energy, presence and precision. "Tensegrity" is a principle in physics that describes how an object is supported by it's own internal structure, and I felt this paint movement, the ground effect, and the perfect conditions that enabled this "stance" needed a word that gives credit to physics. Most of the energy happens in mid-air, a special idea that by trusting the universe and working with physics, there's beauty that guides each moment. Tensegrity therefore isn’t just a painting, it’s the record of a moment that can never happen again.
