Created in Barcelona in 2017, The Portrait of His Beautiful Blackness emerged during my early exploration of the silverpoint technique, marking the beginning of my Barna Black series. This piece stands apart as the only work in the series incorporating plaster within the imagery, adding depth and texture to the skin of the subject in the composition. It was selected for the Louisiana Contemporary exhibition at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans in 2017.
