Harrie Handler

Harrie Handler is a Tucson native whose creative journey began with a single high school photography class-a spark that grew into a lifelong devotion to the arts. She went on to earn a BFA in Art Education and Photography from the University of Arizona.

After retiring from education, she shifted into commercial interior design before finding her true resonance in painting. Initially trained in oils, Harrie now works primarily in acrylic and mixed media, layering texture, found objects, and unconventional techniques to create depth. Her abstract works are rooted in organic inspiration-the shimmer of water, the patina of rust, the quiet poetry of natural decay.

Each piece reflects her guiding philosophy: "Seeing with My Heart."
